The Danger to America is Not Barack Obama...

Categories: Politics

February 4, 2011

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama[,] but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency.  Yes, I blame the people who were so in a rush to elect him and make history by electing the first Black man to the presidency.  Well[,] look what they have accomplished.  It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.  The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us.  Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.  The republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool.  It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.  The sad part is he's only been in office one year.  I can't imagine what the next three will bring[.]"

Professor of Life
"Professor of Life"
Although no one seems to know the origin of this quote, the earliest Internet reference I can find is from a December 19, 2009 blog by the "Professor of Life", who lists his email address as "Don't write me, I have nothing to say to you. com".

The opinion appears to have been written about one year after Obama took office ("...he's only been in office one year"), so the "Professor of Life" December 19, 2009 post date would fit the timeline.

The source of the opinion is often cited as Czech Republic newspaper Prager Zeitung, but that article was published on April 28, 2010, well after the "Professor of Life" post date.  Also, the author wrote "...Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us."  He didn't write "what ails America", so my guess is that the author is an American.

The website of the Republican Party of Milwaukee County cites the "Professor of Life" as the author (http://milwaukee.wisgop.info/2011/01/06/this-is-a-frightening-time-for-america/).

Numerous requests for the source have been sent to the "Professor" through the blog, but as of February 7, 2011, there has been no response.  (I haven't submitted a request because, frankly, it's just not that important to me.  If the author wants to remain anonymous, so be it.  Whoever it is, God bless him/her!)
