FAST Cams

Categories: Technology

Las Vegas Blvd. from Planet Hollywood (LIVE)

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada monitors and controls traffic in the Las Vegas area through the use of its Freeway and Arterial System of Transportation (FAST), including what are commonly known as FAST cams.  Below are some live thumbnails and links to some of the FAST cams used on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, between Tropicana Avenue on the south and the Fashion Show mall, just north of Spring Mountain Road/Sands Avenue.

To see a specific camera, click the image on this page (below).  That will take you to the nvfast.org display page (in a new tab/window).  From there, each display is actually a snapshot taken about every five seconds.  To see a real-time live video, click the "Live Video" button below the display.  The live video feed will play for about one minute.  To change the camera displayed, come back to this page and click another camera image.

Each camera is identified by a four or five digit number (upper left), along with the intersection it covers and a cardinal direction.  Don't let these cardinal directions fool you.  They are, for the most part, meaningless.  Each camera has pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) capability, and can be turned to face any direction.

These cameras can be interesting to watch, but are mostly useful for checking traffic conditions, for example, around the T-Mobile Area.
